Dr. Riffat Farrukh is a senior academician and clinician serving as Professor of Paediatrics at Karachi Metropolitan University, and is currently working as In-Charge, Paediatrics Ward-II at Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.
With over 25 years of dedicated experience in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, Dr. Farrukh has played a pivotal role in medical education and clinical training in Paediatrics. She is deeply involved in curriculum delivery, student mentoring, and clinical supervision, contributing significantly to the academic development of future physicians.
Dr. Farrukh has a strong research profile and is the author of more than 30 research publications, many of which have appeared in reputable international medical journals. Her research interests focus on child health, growth, and pediatric clinical outcomes, reflecting her commitment to evidence-based medicine.
At Karachi Metropolitan University, she actively contributes to institutional governance and quality assurance. She has served as a member of several key statutory and administrative committees, including the Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC), Anti-Women Harassment Committee, Provident Fund Committee, Clinical Coordination Committee, Board of Faculty (BOF), and Board of Studies (BOS). She also holds the responsibility of Paediatrics Subject Convenor, ensuring academic standards and alignment with regulatory requirements.
Dr. Farrukh is a lifetime member of the Pakistan Pediatric Association, reflecting her long-standing engagement with national pediatric professional bodies. She is also the Founding Member and General Secretary of the Child Health and Growth Welfare Organisation (CHAGWO), an organization committed to improving child health and developmental outcomes through advocacy and community engagement.
In addition, she serves as a Supervisor and Examiner for the College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan (CPSP), contributing to postgraduate medical training and assessment at the national level.
